Research Interests
- Experimental and theoretical study of nonlinear dynamic phenomena in chemistry and biology. Modeling of physiological processes; in particular, reaction-diffusion, electrodiffusion and stochastic phenomena related to calcium signaling in cardiac myocytes.
- Current projects I am involved in concern experimental study of uncatalyzed bromate oscillator with aniline and modeling cardiac excitation-contraction coupling and calcium sparks and waves in cardiac myocytes.
Awards
- 1984 – Bronze medal at the XVI. International Chemistry Olympiad in Frankfurt am Main
- 1985 – Gold medal at the XVII. International Chemistry Olympiad in Bratislava
- 1990 – The Rector Price for excellent results in the study
- 1999-2000 – ‘excellent young scientist’ status at the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Comenius University
